Wastage is a subject that can raise ecological, economic and solidarity issues. In the context of sustainable development, fighting against goods and energy waste is a current challenge. This chart shows the results of a survey conducted with French people aged 18 and over about wastage in 2019.
The survey asked the respondents if the environmental impact of a product's components was a criteria taken into consideration for their purchases. The ecological dimension during purchases interested 64 percent of the respondents, at varying degrees. Up to 16 percent stated that they always took it into account, while 9 percent did never pay attention.
The possibility to repair the product was a concern for 75 percent of French people, according to this same survey.
