Wastage is a subject that can raise ecological, economic and solidarity issues. In the context of sustainable development, fighting against good and energy waste is a current challenge. Thus, this chart shows the results of a survey conducted with French people aged 18 and over about wastage in 2019.
The survey asked French people which action did they do or plan to do in order to reduce food wastage. It appears that 97 percent of the respondents stated they wrote a shopping list or planned to do it. Giving some food to relatives or neighbors was done or planned by 84 percent of the respondents.
According to this same survey, 16 percent of French used a mobile app to collect unsold food at supermarkets or bakeries.
