Global environmental impacts of the meat industry by type 2019
The traditional meat industry is known to have a relatively high environmental impact, mostly due to high emissions and water consumption. Globally, production of beef emitted around 99.5 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent per kilogram as of 2019, over nine times the emissions from pork production.
