Wine consumption by gender ratio in Africa 2021, by country
Based on a survey conducted between June 2020 and June 2021, wine consumption was more prevalent among female adults in Zimbabwe, as the country obtained a ratio of three. Kenya and South Africa followed, scoring 1.9 and 1.5, respectively, which indicates that females took more wine than males. Moreover, three countries namely Botswana, Ethiopia and Nigeria, maintained a gender parity in wine consumption. On the other hand, male adults were more likely to consume wine in Morocco, compared to females.
