Increasing severity of droughts in African countries 2016-2018
The intensity of droughts and flooding in Africa has changed over the last few years. According to a survey conducted in 33 African countries, droughts had become more severe for half of the respondents. People from Uganda, Malawi, and Madagascar were more likely to observe that the droughts became more intense between 2016 and 2018. Indeed, 87 percent of respondents from Uganda stated that droughts had become more severe, making Uganda the country in which people perceived droughts to have worsened the most.
