Location-based delivery emissions of Marks & Spencer in the UK and Ireland 2016-2022
Besides energy used in fridges and heating of stores and warehouses, multichannel retailers like Marks & Spencer generate significant emissions from their delivery fleet used for distribution. In the United Kingdom (UK) and Republic of Ireland (ROI), retailer Marks & Spencer generated 82,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2e) equivalent under this specific category of emissions in the financial year ending 2022. That represented an increase from the previous year when restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic produced a six-year low of 72,000 metric tons of CO2e.
