A survey carried out in the United States in 2021 showed that a significant number of consumers still relied on offline channels when having to purchase big-ticket products and services. While 12.2 percent of real estate buyers engaged and paid digitally, only 9.2 percent of automobiles' buyers did the same. In turn, less than six percent of U.S. consumers had a full online shopping experience when it came to remodeling. Third-party review sites had a minor relevance in online big-ticket transactions.
