In 2022, the number of deaths from acute myocardial infarction in Spain reached 13,643 cases, up from around 13,463 deaths reported a year prior. The number of casualties due to heart attack showed an overall downward trend in the European country since 2005, after deaths from acute myocardial infarction reached over 23,000 cases. That year, a higher number of men than women died from this condition.
