Health spending in Panama as share of GDP 2010-2021
In 2021, spending on health represented approximately ten percent of Panama's gross domestic product (GDP), the highest value recorded during the analyzed decade. Health expenditure relative to GDP grew by three percentage points in the Central American country compared to 2010. In comparison, that year Cuba's healthcare spending corresponded to 14 percent of its GDP, the highest value reported among Latin American and Caribbean countries.
