The PMI is based on a survey of industrial companies in each country. It includes questions regarding production, incoming orders, employment, delivery times, and stock. A value of 50 is considered neutral, a value of over 50 points as an increase, and a value of less than 50 points as decrease of industrial production. The greater the deviation from 50 points, the greater the change.
