Impact of multichannel retail on packaging in Europe 2017, by material
In 2017, a survey asked brand owners and retailers in five European countries how multichannel retail will impact the use of packaging material. 27 percent of the respondents stated that the multi-channel retail will drive strong growth of packaging made in folding cartons. In 25 percent of cases, the same trend was confirmed for flexible plastics as well. Glass and metal packaging were expected to be used less by the multichannel retail in the next five years.
