Wettest North American storms 2019
The wettest tropical cyclone recorded in North America between 1950 and 2019 was Hurricane Flora in October 1963. Over 100 inches of rain fell in Santiago de Cuba. Other locations in the Caribbean received over 40 inches of precipitation as a result of Flora. North America is particularly vulnerable to high precipitation systems such as tropical cyclones and hurricanes. The storms listed all formed in either the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, or the Pacific Ocean.
