Number of new drug ingredients applied by domestic companies in China 2013-2019
In 2019, there were 244 types of class one innovative drug ingredients applied in the National Medical Products Administration of China from domestic pharmaceutical companies. There were 144 new drug ingredients from chemical medicines and 100 from biological medicines. The application number had increased significantly since 2016, when the authority announced new policies to accelerate the regulatory review of new drugs.
