Truck registrations covered by adopted CO2 standards by brand EU 2020
In an attempt to motivate a shift to low and zero-emissions trucks, the European Union set new carbon dioxide emission standards for heavy-duty commercial vehicles in February 2019. Out of all the trucks registered in 2020 and falling under this regulation, 31 percent were Volkswagen units. The German manufacturer was followed by its competitor Volvo Trucks, which held a quarter of the market. Overall, 18 out of 25 trucks were in compliance with the new standards.
