Russian imports of sanctioned goods from the EU 2021
In 2021, Russia imported 11.8 billion U.S. dollars worth of goods that could contribute to the country's development of military potential from European Union (EU) countries, a category that was placed under trade sanctions from the EU after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Another sector whose imports were restricted was that of luxury goods. Russia's imports of luxury goods from the EU exceeded four billion U.S. dollars in 2021.
