Main secondary trade routes in Southern Africa 2018, by transit time
As of 2018, the Gaborone-Gauteng route (via Pioneer Gate/Skilpadshek) from Botswana to South Africa was the secondary trade route with the lowest transit time in the Southern African region. On average, the route could be completed in 15 hours. In contrast, the Ndola-Durban and Durban-Lusaka routes recorded the longest transit time at 185 hours.
