The United States-based multinational conglomerate General Electric Company, headquartered in Boston, accounted for almost eight gigawatts of capacity additions in the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission market in North America between 2017 and 2021. Siemens Energy and Hitachi Energy followed with two and 0.5 gigawatts of installed capacity, respectively.
