Number of video streaming subscriptions used in the U.S. 2023, by generation
According to a survey conducted in 2023, younger generations in the U.S. had more video streaming subscriptions than their older counterparts, with around one in five Gen Zers, millennials, and Gen Xers subscribing to five or more services. In comparison, 10 and nine percent, respectively, of baby boomers and the silent generation had such an amount of video streaming subscriptions. Furthermore, over half of respondents in the oldest group only paid for one platform, compared to 13 percent of Gen Z consumers.
