Increase in library books for kids with diverse characters in North America 2018
This statistic shows the share of librarians who purchased more children's and young adult book titles with diverse characters in the last year in North America as of May 2018. The findings reveal that 68 percent of responding librarians said that they had bought more books with diverse characters in 2018 than in the previous year. More libraries in private schools had purchased diverse kids' and young adult books than a year ago than any other kind of library in North America, however 70 percent or more of every type of library in the study had increased the number of diverse book titles they could offer to their members or students.
