Types of antimicrobials used in water on U.S. cattle feedlots in 2016
There are far fewer water-based antimicrobial products for usage in livestock herds than there are feed-based antimicrobials. In 2016, the largest percentage of cattle treated with water-based antimicrobials were treated using sulfadimethoxine. Using water as a method of administering antimicrobials is an effective way to ensure that all animals in a herd are efficiently treated.
