Share of French consumers who have bought counterfeit unconsciously 2018
Counterfeiters have become expert in manufacturing goods that look very similar to the ones they are copying. Moreover, the rise of online shopping has made it ever harder to distinguish an original product from a counterfeit one. Even if the majority of French consumers (63 percent) have never been duped into buying fake products, 37 percent of French adults have bought at least one counterfeit product in their lives unconsciously.
