Level of awareness of plant-based meat in China 2020, by city tier
A survey conducted in China in April 2020 about plant-based meat products revealed that around 32 percent of respondents from first-tier cities had bought and eaten plant-based meat, whereas only 19 percent of respondents from third and lower tier cities could say the same. Almost a third of respondents from smaller than second-tier cities had never heard about plant-based meat at all.
