The Federal government of Mexico derived the largest share of its revenue from non-oil sources throughout the whole period under consideration, such as taxes and state-owned enterprises. The share of this sort of revenue in the government finance peaked in 2020, when it reached 88 percent of the total. That year, oil revenues (obtained mainly through the Mexican state-owned petroleum company Pemex) were roughly 606 billion pesos. This figure increased the following years, when the Mexican federal government collected 1,481 billion pesos in oil revenues in 2022.
