Androgen replacement therapy for men by age group in the U.S. 2011
This statistic depicts the percentage of U.S. men aged 40 years and older given androgen replacement therapy (ART) in 2011, by age group. For men over 70, 2.22 % of such men in the U.S. were given ART in 2011. Commercial ART sales have been increasing steadily since 2001. ART is also referred to as testosterone replacement therapy. It is often used to minimize the effects of aging in males. ART can be especially useful for men with hypogonadism, where the body is unable to produce normal testosterone amounts. ART has also been used for women.
