According to the Indian government, about 91 security force personnel died due to terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, compared to 14 deaths in the north-eastern region of India in 2018 alone. Defense personnel deaths were the highest in Jammu and Kashmir compared to other regions of the country.
