In Norway, the number of primary school teachers increased from the school year 2015/16 to 2022/23. There were 66,000 teachers in Norwegian public and private primary schools in the school year 2015/16. Eight years later, the number had increased to over 70,000 teachers. Over the same period, the number of pupils per teacher i primary schools decreased.
