Global app publishers earning first net million U.S. dollars 2016-2021, by platform
In 2021, around 906 global app publishers reached the one million U.S. dollar milestone in net revenues or more across the Apple App Store and Google Play. Between 2016 and 2021, more app publishers have consistently reached or surpassed their first million in revenues in the Apple App Store than in the Google Play Store. In 2017, publishers on Google Play generating one million U.S. dollars or more were 27 percent of the total, while in 2020 the number rose to make up approximately 36.4 percent of the total.
