In 2022, Australian shoppers were expected to spend a total of 66 billion Australian dollars during the pre-Christmas sales period, with consumers in New South Wales forecast to spend around 20 billion Australian dollars. In comparison, consumers in Tasmania were only forecast to spend approximately 1.3 billion Australian dollars.
