This statistic shows the distribution of expected primary payment source for emergency department (ED) visits by patients aged 45 to 64 years in the U.S. in 2015, by diabetes status. The share of private insurance as a primary payment source for patients with diabetes having ED visits was 32 percent while among patients without diabetes it was 38 percent.
