Reliance Jio's wireless subscriber share 2018-2023
The share of customers with wireless subscriptions with Reliance Jio has grown from just below 24 percent to more than one third within two and a half years, which accounted for more than 459.8 million subscribers at the end of 2023. It had the highest market share in the wireless subscription sector in India and was followed by Bharti Airtel with around 32 percent of the market share during the same period.
Reliance Jio
Reliance Jio, also known more popularly as Jio, is a Mumbai based Indian telecommunications provider. It is a subsidiary of India’s biggest conglomerate Reliance Industries. Jio was first launched on September 5th, 2014, with 4G services and it soon became the leading mobile telecom provider in India, thanks to its cheap price, aggressive marketing, and fast, extensive mobile network. India’s 5G spectrum auction was delayed, and the rollout of Jio’s 5G services started by the end of 2021.
