Dominican Republic: undernourishment prevalence 2004-2020
The share of population in the Dominican Republic whose habitual food intake was insufficient to maintain an active and healthy life was estimated at 8.3 percent in the time period between 2016 and 2018. The percentage indicates how the country has improved significantly in this area, for instance, in comparison to the time period 2004-2006, when the prevalence of undernourishment was at 19.2 percent. Nevertheless, the Dominican Republic had the second highest share of undernourishment prevalence among Caribbean countries.
