Consumer support of the WGA strike in the United States 2023, by level of awareness

According to a survey held in May 2023 among U.S. streaming content consumers, 54 percent of those who claimed to understand a lot about the ongoing Writer's Guild of America (WGA) strike also strongly supported it. In March, 40 percent of media professionals agreed that it was in the writers' best interest to strike. On July 14, The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) members officially joined the strike against movie and TV studios.
