Susceptibility to illness in Africa 2016-2018, by country
Approximately one-third (31 percent) of adults in Africa had an increased risk of having an infection, such as the one caused by coronavirus (COVID-19). Taking into account poor living conditions, as well as age and lack of enough food, clean water or medical care, six out of ten people in Guinea (64 percent) and Niger (62 percent) are more vulnerable to being infected and to developing a disease. In contrast, the susceptibility to illness were at seven percent in Tunisia and two percent in Mauritius.
