Overview of Port of Piraeus
The Port of Piraeus is a major European seaport located in Greece, near Athens. Piraeus' strategic location makes it an ideal port for destinations in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The Piraeus Container Terminal is a Greek corporation and a fully owned subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited.
Other important European Ports
The three biggest European ports in 2022 were Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Antwerp. Throughout the course of the year, the Ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp handled approximately 14.5 million and roughly 13.5 million TEUs, respectively. At present, COSCO Shipping Ports Limited holds a 20 percent stake in the Antwerp Terminal and an approximately 18 percent stake in the Euromax Terminal at the Port of Rotterdam.
