Hours per year Americans spend playing video games

How many hours per year do Americans spend playing video games?

Answered by Niall McCarthy, 19.10.2012

In 2012, the average American spent 142 hours per year playing video games. This is a steep rise from 2005 when the estimated time spent playing video games in the United States averaged roughly 78 hours. The large growth in playing time can be attributed to the increasing impact video game technology is having on people in the United States.
