Does Europe view the economic situation in Greece and Italy as a threat?

In mid 2012, Europeans were polled about the impact of the financial situations in Greece and Italy on the economic well-being of their own country. The largest contributors to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), Germany and France felt most threatened. 71% of Germans believe that the situation in Greece and Italy represents a major threat while 64% of those polled in France believe the same. In Britain, a much lower proportion, 54%, view the situation as threatening.
