Number of Netflix subscribers worldwide as of 3rd quarter 2012 (fee-based)

This statistic presents Netflix subscriber numbers at the end of each quarter since 2009. At the end of the first quarter of 2010, Netflix had 13.97 million subscribers. In the third quarter of 2011, Netflix lost subscribers following a controversial change of its pricing model.
At the end of 2012, Netflix changed the manner of reporting subscriber figures. They have been split into three separate figures:
- number of streaming subscribers worldwide,
- number of streaming susbcribers in the U.S.,
- number of DVD subscribers in the U.S.
