Supplementary notes

Note: The level of funding reflects a decline in need due to the decreasing numbers of migrants to Israel.
Beginning in 1973, Israel has received grants from the State Department’s Migration and Refugee Assistance fund (MRA) to assist in the resettlement of migrants to Israel. Funds are paid to the United Israel Appeal, a private philanthropic organization in the United States, which in turn transfers the funds to the Jewish Agency for Israel.
The Migration and Refugee Account (MRA) is authorized as part of the State Department funding but is appropriated through the Foreign Operations Appropriations bill.
Data refers to fiscal years.
