This statistic shows the Supreme Court ruling on the Health Care Law (Affordable Care Act). On June 28, 2012, five of the nine Justices ruled in favor of the Health Care Law and decided that the individual mandate would not be unconstitutional if it were upheld as a tax, rather than a fee. In both decisions Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the court's four most liberal members Stephen Breyer, Ruth Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor.
