Share of security threats caused by religious extremism in U.S. prisons in 2011
This statistic shows U.S. prison chaplains responses to a question of how often cases of religious extremism in U.S. prisons posed a serious security threat. The responses are differentiated by the prisons' security level. During the survey, 29 percent of chaplains who worked in maximum security prisons said that cases of religious extremism had either almost always or sometimes posed a serious security threat.
