This statistic depicts women at risk of unintended pregnancy in the U.S. as of 2008, by contraception use. There were some 43 million women at risk of unintended pregnancy in the United States, of which 68 percent practiced contraception consistently. This group of women accounted for only five percent of the total 3.1 million unintended pregnancies in the U.S. in that year.
