Impact of first ACA open enrollment on poor uninsured U.S. adults 2014
This statistic displays the impact of the first ACA open enrollment on the rate of poor U.S. adults without health insurance 2013-2014. From July to September 2013, 28 percent of adults below 100 percent of poverty were uninsured in the expanded Medicaid states. After the first enrollment period of the Affordable Care Act between October 2013 until March 2014, the share of uninsured working-age adults decreased dramatically. During this time, approximately 14 million citizens chose a private insurance or enrolled in Medicaid.
