In 2021, the N SSATS and the N-MHSS were combined into one survey—the National Substance Use and Mental Health Services Survey (N-SUMHSS)—to ease burden on facilities offering both substance use and mental health services, reduce government resources to collect data, and increase the rate at which data can be produced through one streamlined survey.
