Intended accommodation for summer staycations in the UK 2021
The term 'staycation' is typically used to refer to a holiday spent in one's home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions. A March 2021 survey revealed that commercial rental accommodations, such as rented holiday cottages, were the leading accommodation type travelers intended to use for an overnight domestic trip in summer in the United Kingdom, with 39 percent of respondents stating this was the case. Comparatively, 35 percent of UK respondents said that they planned to stay at private homes during their next summer staycations.
