Share of government spending on defense in Kenya 2010-2020

In 2020, military expenditure in Kenya corresponded to 4.4 percent of government spending. The share slightly declined from 4.6 percent in the previous year and reached the lowest level since 2010. Although it has been recording lower weight in the government expenditure, military spending in Kenya has in general increased. As of 2020, the country spent 1.1 billion U.S. dollars on defense.
