CO₂ emissions from power generation in Europe 2021-2026
Europe's carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions from electricity supply are forecast to decrease by 24.2 percent by 2026, relative to 2023 levels. This would see CO₂ emissions from power generation drop to below 650 million metric tons (MtCO₂). Coal-fired power currently accounts for the largest share of Europe's power sector emissions.
