Americans opinion of Obama in light of the government shutdown in 2013
This statistic shows the results of a survey conducted in October 2013 among adult Americans on how they view President Barack Obama in light of the government shutdown in the United States. The shutdown occurred because the Republicans in Congress and President Obama could not reach an agreement on the federal budget. In the worst case, a government shutdown can result in national bankruptcy. During this survey, 28 percent of respondents stated that they felt more positive towards the President as a consequence of the 2013 government shutdown.
