Crude oil imports from Australia to Japan FY 2023, by oil type
In the fiscal year 2023, Japan imported over 620 thousand kiloliters of crude oil from Australia. The by far largest share of more than 287 thousand kiloliters of that import volume was made up of ICHTHY-C. Japan lacks domestic reserves of fossil fuels and is therefore dependent on imports.
