Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply was the economic activity with the highest volume of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Turkey as of 2020, at some 136 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. This was followed by manufacturing with 132.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. By comparison, the Administrative and support service activities' GHG emissions was the lowest among these activities, at nearly 1.8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
