Connection to an electric grid in Africa 2019-2021, by lived poverty
Poorer people in Africa had the lowest connection rates to an electric grid in 2019/2021. Around 40 percent of individuals living in high poverty possessed an electric connection. The share increased to 50 percent and 67 percent among those living in moderate and low poverty, respectively. By contrast, 84 percent of the people with no lived poverty had a connection to the grid. The proportions considered 34 countries surveyed on the continent.
